Breast Augmentation

Today we’re talking about breast augmentation.

I use a superior technique called endoscopic breast augmentation. This uses the endoscope, along with the keller funnel to limit your incision size to as small as possible. It also allows for more definition in the cleavage area.

In breast augmentation, there are three choices for incisions. You get do it around the areola, under the breast, or on the armpit if you desire no scar on the breast. The armpit incision is superior in patients who have an A cup, or very little breast tissue, or are young without any marks or scars. Once you shave over the armpit incision in 6 or 7 months, neither the patients themselves, or I can find it.

The implants are then placed almost exclusively under the muscle. There are three advantages for that: the hiding of the implant with the muscle makes it less palpable, massaging action on the muscle makes it so that it stays softer, and having the implant separated from the breast tissue with the muscle makes it so later on a mammography will be much more accurate.

With breast augmentation, I also utilize sizers during surgery. I use multiple sizers to find the exact perfect implant for you. The choices of implant are silicone or saline. Silicone implants are much more natural feeling, and the majority of my patients choose those.

What I’m mainly looking for in a typical patient is to have excellent cleavage, and for the outer part of the breast to be just covering the outer part of the chest. The breasts should feel natural in and out of clothes, and to touch.
